Continued work on the establishment of TECDOC drafting for the UN member states. Meeting in Vienna.

The IAEA has chosen the Technical Manager Tony Löfqvist at MMK as an expert in the drafting of the TECDOC drafting for the UN member states. This work will provide a basis for managing the ionizing radiation problem regarding testing, measurement, investigation and measures against radon and gamma radiation. This work includes both existing and new buildings including how to test rock-based building material. The work began on the 18th-22nd of June 2018 and continues at the IAEA in Vienna on the 13th-16th of November 2018.

EU-meeting in Paris

Technical Manager Tony Löfqvist at MMK represents SIS as Sweden’s radiation expert at the EU-meeting in Paris for the TG31 and TG32 working groups on the 18th-19th of September 2018.

WG3-meeting in Berlin

MMK A2 610 is a Swedish accredited method developed by MMK to test the product aggregate according to the new radiation law in Sweden issued by Euroatom 2013/59.

MMK is the only accredited company in Sweden with the capacity to measure natural radioactive nuclides and ionizing radiation (radon and  gamma radiation) in stone based construction products.


Experts at MMK’s technical department has developed and received accreditation for new leading measurement methods. These methods allow our customers and producers of construction materials to obtain prompt and accurate measurement results.


In cooperation with our international partners we developed the new measurement instruments necessary for these pioneering inventions.


The MMK’s accreditation is valid for testing construction material in all 36 member states of the European Accreditation Agency (EA) as well as in its 13 associate members.

MMK is a full-service company with radon competence, offering radon measurements, radon investigations, radon engineering and radon remediation. Our work always includes guarantee.
